What is MBT peer-review policy?

Medbiotech Journal is open access, peer-reviewed and refereed journal published by Iranian-Australian Community of Science. Articles after submitting to Medbiotech Journal are usually sent out to peer reviewers, although manuscript that are out of journal’s scope or are of low quality may be refused without review. In general, appropriate manuscripts will be reviewed by at least two experts in the same area of specialization to make the first decision as soon as possible.

What is the scope of MBT?

There are a wide variety of journal’s scope, including peer reviewed original research articles, case studies, technical reports, research reviews, short communications, notes to the editor, letters to editor and authors’ response about letters to editor in interdisciplinary information on the practice and status of research in biotechnology and nanotechnology, both natural and artificial. Research areas covered in the journal include but are not restricted to:

Is MBT open access journal?

Yes, it is. All publications are available freely and permanently on the journal website in which all viewers can have access to full-text papers at any time.


If the author/editor is appropriately acknowledged thus anyone can do unlimited use, distribution and reproduction in any medium are allowed. In order to rise the visibility of authors work, open access has provided remarkable support to both authors and science institutions. Authors can preserve copyright and do quick publication.

Can authors do share their offprint with others?

Both corresponding and co-authors have the full right to publish the PDF offprint of their journal article(s) to their research colleagues and research organizations.

Do you have processing charge for publication in your journal?

The authors never pay any charges for submitting articles, article processing, and publication and MBT is free of charge.

What is your reference style in your journal?

Vancouver style must be used for the references in all published papers. For more information, authors should refer to Guide for Author section on the journal website. It is strongly recommended that authors use EndNote to enter the references into their manuscripts.

What happens if authors don’t respond to their My Publication email on time?

After a few days of article submission, authors will receive an email as a reminder. As soon as the editorial office receive the essential information from authors, they start the reviewing process and after completing the My Publication process, the proofs will be sent to the authors. 

When can authors expect their page proofs?

Authors will receive the page proof around 2 weeks after completing the Publication process. Then, authors’ paper will be published into the system and the paper will be typeset. Afterwards, Authors will receive the proofs of their paper shortly. During this period the authors will have the chance to send their corrections to the typesetter.

How long will it take to get the first response regarding submission?

The reviewing process starts with initial review of papers regarding scope and plagiarism, which will carry out during the first three days. Afterwards, the editor-in-chief have the responsibility for sending the papers to two proficient reviewers

in order to do a blind review. In general, Medbiotech Journal replies to submitted papers after 3 weeks.

Can authors change the content of their article during the review process?

Yes, they can. Authors have the chance to make necessary correction to their manuscripts during the proof process beginning after completing the My Publication process.

How can I change my personal or institutional details?

You should refer to the sent link existing in your email and you can have access to all your account detail after clicking the provided link. You should use the link from the email again to go back to the “My Publication” pages after changing your address. 

How can I correct the name of the author with incorrect spell?

Authors have the chance to make any changes that they desire at the proof stage. The typesetter makes corrections before publishing an article online. Authors should be aware that making any changes to the manuscripts is not possible after publishing the paper.

What will be happened if there is a conflict of interest?

The authors have the responsibility for checking the conflict of interests as regards their papers. The reviewers should not take into account manuscripts that have conflicts of interest as a result of competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers. If this is the case, the reviewers should inform the editor and exempt themselves from reviewing that specific paper.

What happens if the language, grammar or structure of the paper is not proper?

Medbiotech Journal encourages authors to verify the grammatical corrections before being submitted to the editorial office. Before assigning the submitted manuscript by the authors to the reviewers, editorial office ensures that manuscript with very poor English is not sent to reviewers. However, a paper with poor English and with the errors, the paper should be returned to the editor with the request that the authors have the material edited for content before re-submitting it for peer review.

Will the author(s) see the reviewers’ comments?

The authors will only see the comments, if reviewers have made that are specific to the author, else the assigning editor will submit the comments given by the reviewer to authors through online editorial system.

What happens if one review conflicts with that of another reviewer?

The final decision of whether to accept or reject a particular manuscript lies with the Editor-in-chief or assigning Editor. The editor will weigh both views and may call for a third opinion or ask the author for a revised paper before making a decision.

How to retrieve the forgotten my password?

From “medbiotech.net” page, click on the “Log in” link in the upper right corner of your screen. Then click on the “forgot password” link in the sign-in box that appears. A reset password link will be sent to the e-mail address associated with account and information for resetting the password. By clicking on the reset password link, a new password will be generated automatically and sent to concerned email address.

How often does the journal get published?

The MBT is published quarterly in March, June, September, and December.

Should we send copyright form along with manuscript or we can send it later?

Copyright forms shall be submitted by the corresponding author at the time of submission of the manuscript.

Do you get any fee for a conference paper or a special issue?

Publication of conference papers and special issues is free-of-charge. Medbiotech Journal service to the scientific community promoting the journal’s mission to keep and publish scientific knowledge.
